JAVA Micro services Developer NTT DATA UK has an immediate requirement for an experienced developer with Telecoms experience to work with our team, with one of our prestigious Telecoms clients. Summary of Role: NTT DATA are currently working with a top 5 UK telco operator and are looking for a JAVA/J2EE backend developer expertise in J2EE technologies such as Spring Boot and SpringSecurity. In addition, experience of AWS and DevOps tools is highly desirable. The candidate will be working on a large transformation programme alongside client development teams in an Agile project delivery environment with multiple suppliers and offshore teams. Responsibilities: • Deliver/Enhance high quality application & modules developed using J2EE technologies – Spring boot framework, Dependency Injection, Spring dependencies, Redis workflow, EH cache workflow. • Must have strong experience in delivering micro services and should have abundant experience in maintaining projects running with Java/J2EE technologies. • Should be adaptive to work in a Linux based development environment – at least the basic commands and principles. • Participate in continuous improvement by contributing best practices, enforcing standards, and improving processes. • Knowledge of working in a Continuous Integration (CI) environment with Docker, Packer, AWS, Terraform and ELK Monitoring. • DevOps tools experience i.e. such as Jenkins and AWS utility tools etc. • Ensure compliance of developed solution to underlying solution architecture. • Design and document the software implementation in the Software Design Specification. • Deliver the highest quality software using unit/integration testing, continuous integration, build automation and other industry standard best practices. • Perform design and code reviews to ensure architectural alignment and quality. • Support and maintain production digital applications by resolving production issues, tuning performance, and coordinating troubleshooting efforts. • Provide development oversight, metrics tracking and issue resolution. • Maintain relationships and collaborate with other domains including architecture, business analysis, infrastructure, quality control and security. • Implementing requirements based on Low Level Design & Coding Standards. • Collaborate with product management & engineering to define & implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience. • Delivering digital solutions by keeping the client at the forefront of digital technologies. • Setting technical direction focusing on front-end development. • Driving the adoption of Continuous Delivery, Continuous Integration and Behaviour Driven Development. • Ensuring continuous improvement by proposing & implementing new processes, designs, frameworks & engineering practices that makes the team more effective. Key Skills: • Minimum of 5 years of JAVA/J2EE experience with strong hands-on skills, solid understanding of Spring dependencies, Redis caching principles & implementation, spring security, EH Cache principles & implementation, Spring boot framework. • Extensive experience of Micro services development • Basic skillsets with HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS3, SASS, a11y Standards, JSP/JSTL, Git and bitbucket. • Knowledge of AWS utility tools and DevOps tools. • Deliver tooling improvements for the delivery pipeline • Deep knowledge of browser compatibility, response web design, application servers, unit-testing frameworks. • Solid knowledge of the entire application development life cycle including configuration management practices and procedures. • Must be able to apply SOLID, domain-driven design and other architectural principles to designs and code • Strong understanding of software design patterns and methodology. • Flexibility, energy and ability to work well with others in a virtual, geographically dispersed team environment. • Demonstrated ability to stay current with development best practices, existing and emerging technology platforms, and industry trends. • Experience with formal software development methodologies, with a focus on Agile.
