Job Description:
Job Title(Job Code) : Data Engineer (EN-XD-01)
Purpose of the Job: Develop, manage, and sustain the digital reporting tools and sharepoint sites for the engineering function while supporting continuous improvement activities within the function.
Responsibilities
Updated design review dates based on BDI file
Preparation of HCC and BCC Accrual
Actuals vs remaining Analyse
Dashboard update – MBR, OTIF, SED Dashboard
Update project Resource Plan
Data consolidation based on P6 : Budgeted ,Remaining ,Actuals
Update, analyse and consolidation of the WL file based on a P6 extract
Other P6 support: resource plan update, task creation etc
Lead the development and implementation of Power BI and PowerApp applications across the RSC UK&I Engineering function
Develop Dashboards and Reports based upon information held in our core systems
Contribute to the development of new products and services, with ownership for any reporting required within Power BI
Optimise each report ensuring performance is maintained to highest level
Develop a robust testing regime for all developments
Show a hands-on approach in the full life-cycle delivery of reports, dashboards, and data feeds,Capture detailed end-user requirements and assess for priority
Lead the elaboration of the reports and digital solution specification & architecture, in collaboration with the functional owner
Responsible for the data management of existing reports and associated systems
Develop and sustain engineering sharepoint pages.
Lead the implementation of new tools based on the O365 architecture (PowerBi, PowerApp, Power Automate, Sharepoint)
Contribute to standardization by reusing existing solutions or by implementing reusable solutions
To be able to support the Continuous Improvement Team with APSYS implementation by deploying visual management tools and digital solutions within the engineering function
To support the management Team with data driven visual management solutions
Support the Continuous Improvement Team with maximising lean principles and implementing best practices.
Educational Requirements
Min 2 years professional experience
Engineering/Software development experience preferred
Desired Knowledge / Experience
High level of knowledge in MS excel and standard knowledge in MS PowerPoint and MS word
Min 1 year experience in engineering subcontracting management or engineering project management
Good speaking, reading, and writing skills in English
Good in Negotiation, communication, presentation, and planning
Programming experience (e.g. Python, MATLAB, C) welcomed
Data management experience (SQL preferred)
Web building experience
Six Sigma experience (Green or Black Belt welcomed, but not required)
Technical Skills & Competencies
Comfortable with mathematics and large datasets
Deep understanding of Excel, PowerBi
Good understanding and experience of SharePoint, PowerApps, PowerAutomate
Interpersonal skills:
Good verbal and written communications skills
Driven and dynamic individual
Ability to apply an organised, methodical, and consistent approach
Must be able to work with all levels of business from senior leadership to maintenance team members
Strong team player but with the ability to work well in isolation
