UTET 2026 Notification Overview :

UTET 2026 is conducted for candidates who wish to obtain eligibility for appointment as teachers in government, government-aided, and state-recognized schools of Uttarakhand.
The examination will be conducted at two levels :
UTET-I: For candidates aspiring to teach Primary Classes I to V.
UTET-II: For candidates aspiring to teach Upper Primary Classes VI to VIII.

The proposed UTET 2026 examination date is 29 September 2026 (Tuesday).

UTET 2026 Eligibility Criteria :

UTET-I Eligibility (Primary Level Classes I-V) :
Candidates must fulfill any one of the following eligibility conditions :
Senior Secondary (12th Pass) with minimum 50% marks along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed/BTC), completed or pursuing.
Senior Secondary with minimum 45% marks along with 2-year D.El.Ed/BTC as per NCTE regulations.
Senior Secondary with minimum 50% marks along with a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
Senior Secondary with minimum 50% marks along with a 2-year Diploma in Special Education recognized by RCI.
Graduation degree along with a 2-year D.El.Ed/BTC.
Shiksha Mitras working in government primary schools who have completed 2-year D.El.Ed training from IGNOU with government permission.
In-service teachers appointed as Assistant Teacher/Headmaster in UDISE-coded schools teaching Classes I-V.

UTET-II Eligibility (Upper Primary Level Classes VI-VIII) :
Candidates must fulfill any one of the following qualifications :
Graduation degree with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed/BTC).
Graduation with minimum 50% marks along with B.Ed/L.T./Shiksha Shastri.
Graduation with minimum 45% marks along with B.Ed/L.T./Shiksha Shastri as per NCTE norms.
Senior Secondary with minimum 50% marks along with 4-year B.El.Ed.
Senior Secondary with minimum 50% marks along with B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed/B.A-B.Sc.Ed.
Graduation with minimum 50% marks along with B.Ed Special Education recognized by RCI.
Graduation/Post Graduation with 50% marks along with B.Ed.
In-service teachers appointed in UDISE-coded schools teaching Classes VI-VIII.

Common Eligibility Conditions :
Candidates currently pursuing eligible teacher training courses can also apply.
Educational qualifications must be obtained from recognized boards/universities.
Teacher training courses must be from NCTE-recognized institutions.
Reserved category candidates including SC, ST, OBC, and Divyang candidates receive 5% relaxation in graduation marks.
Candidates applying during training will receive provisional eligibility.
No separate age limit has been mentioned in the UTET 2026 notification.

UTET 2026 Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme :
Common Exam Pattern :
UTET 2026 will be conducted through offline OMR-based examination.
Each paper contains 150 multiple-choice questions.
Each question carries 1 mark.
Total marks: 150 marks.
Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes.
There is no negative marking.
Incorrect, blank, or multiple answers receive zero marks.
Question papers will be available in Hindi and English except language sections.

Second Language – 30 Questions (30 Marks).

Qualifying UTET does not guarantee teacher appointment.
Candidates must fulfill recruitment rules prescribed by the Uttarakhand Government.

UTET 2026 Exam Centres :
The examination will be conducted across 29 cities in 13 districts of Uttarakhand.
Candidates must select two preferred exam cities while filling the application form.
Once the centre is allotted, requests for change will not be accepted.
