1. Nationality / Eligibility
Candidates must be ;
Indian citizens, or
Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, or
Tibetan refugees who arrived in India before 1st Jan 1962 intending permanent settlement, or
Persons of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries.
Candidates in the last three categories need an eligibility certificate from the Government of India.
2. Educational Qualification :
Must have passed final MBBS examination (written and practical) from a recognized university.
Provisional Admission: Candidates appearing in or awaiting final MBBS results may apply, subject to proof of passing within 15 days after written exam results.
Internship: Candidates not yet completing the compulsory rotating internship can appear for the exam, but appointment is only after internship completion.
3. Physical & Medical Standards :
Must be medically and physically fit as per CMS 2026 regulations (Appendix III).
4. Marital Status :
Candidates who are already married to a living spouse or have contracted marriage while having a living spouse are not eligible, except if allowed under personal law and Central Government approval.
5. Age Limit (as on 01-08-2026) :
General : 32 years.
Medical Officers – CHS : 35 years.
SC/ST +5 years.
OBC +3 years.
Defence personnel disabled in operations +3 years.
Ex-Servicemen (≥5 years) +5 years.
ECOs/SSCOs +5 years (with certificate).
Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) +10 years.
Candidates in multiple categories are eligible for cumulative relaxation.
Only the Matriculation / Secondary School certificate is accepted for date of birth.
6. Application Fee :
General / OBC / EWS : ₹200.
SC, ST, Female, PwBD : Exempted.
Payment: Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, UPI, or Visa/Master/RuPay.
Fee is non-refundable. Applications without required fee will be rejected.
7. Salary / Pay Scale :
Assistant Divisional Medical Officer (Railways) : Level-10 (₹56,100–₹1,77,500) + NPA Private practice prohibited
Medical Officer – CHS : Level-10 (₹56,100–₹1,77,500) + NPA Private practice prohibited
General Duty Medical Officer – NDMC : Level-10 (₹56,100–₹1,77,500) + Restricted NPA Promotions up to Level-14
General Duty Medical Officer Grade-II – MCD : Level-10 (₹56,100 + NPA & allowances) Private practice prohibited.
All appointees will follow Contributory Pension System (NPS) rules.
