UP Anganwadi Recruitment 2026

Eligibility Criteria :
Candidates must satisfy all the prescribed eligibility conditions before applying for the Anganwadi Worker posts.

Only female candidates are eligible to apply.
Applicants must be permanent residents of the concerned ward or Gram Sabha where the vacancy is advertised.
For urban vacancies, candidates must belong to the respective ward and their residence will be verified through local body records.
The minimum age required is 18 years.
The maximum age limit is 35 years as on 01 January 2026.

Educational Qualification :
Candidates must have passed Intermediate (Class 12 / 10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board.
Merit will be prepared based on marks obtained up to the Intermediate level.
Selection is purely merit-based and no written examination will be conducted.
Domicile and Caste Certificate Requirements
Residence certificates must be issued by the Tehsil office.
Caste certificates should also be obtained from the competent Tehsil authority.
All certificates must be digitally signed and verifiable online.
Certificates without online verification may not be considered valid.

Age Relaxation and Reservation Policy :
The recruitment process provides reservation and relaxation benefits to eligible categories as per Government rules.
SC/ST Reservation ;
Reservation benefits are available to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates.
Eligible candidates will receive preference according to the applicable reservation policy.
Widow Applicants
Widows of Gram Panchayat officials, municipal employees, or their family members are eligible for reservation benefits.
A valid Government-issued death certificate must be submitted as proof.
Divorcee / Separated Women ;
Divorced and legally separated women are eligible to apply.

Age Calculation ;
Age will be calculated as on 01 January 2026.
Candidates must fulfill the age criteria on the specified cut-off date.
