Eligibility Criteria :
Applicants must satisfy all eligibility conditions as on 27/04/2026, the date of advertisement, to be considered for the post of Chowkidar (Watchman).
Educational Qualification :
Candidates must have passed SSC (10th Standard) or an equivalent examination.
Possession of the minimum qualification alone does not ensure selection; final appointment will be strictly based on performance in the computer-based examination.
Nationality & Domicile :
Must be an Indian citizen.
Must be a resident (domicile) of Maharashtra.
Candidates from 865 Marathi-speaking villages along the Maharashtra–Karnataka border are also eligible, provided they submit valid domicile proof issued by the competent authority.
Reservation Eligibility :
Reservation benefits are applicable only to eligible Maharashtra domicile candidates as per government regulations under Section 20 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950.
Age Criteria (as on 18/05/2026) :
Age limits and relaxations are applicable as per Maharashtra Government rules.
General (Unreserved) : As per government norms.
Reserved Categories (Non-Creamy Layer) : Applicable relaxation as per rules.
Divyang (PwBD) : Up to 45 years.
Sportspersons : Up to 43 years.
Ex-Servicemen : Service period + 3 years relaxation.
Part-time Government Employees : As per applicable government resolution.
Creamy Layer Categories : No age relaxation.
Application Fee :
General Candidates : ₹1,000.
Reserved Categories / OBC / Orphans / PwBD : ₹900.
Ex-Servicemen / Disabled Ex-Servicemen : No fee.
Payment mode: Online only (UPI / Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking, etc.).
Fee once paid is non-refundable.
Selection Process & Exam Pattern :
Selection Method ;
Selection will be based solely on a Computer-Based Online Examination (CBT) conducted in Marathi.
No physical or trade test will be conducted.
Exam Details :
Total Marks: 200.
Questions: 100 objective-type questions.
Duration: 120 minutes.
Medium: Marathi.
Qualifying Criteria :
Minimum 45% marks required for merit consideration.
Merit List :
Final selection will be based on CBT performance.
Tie-breaking rules will follow government guidelines.
