Eligibility Criteria :
Only Indian citizens are eligible. Qualifications and experience vary by post ;

Engineer (D) – Mechanical: M.E./M.Tech. or Ph.D. in relevant field with minimum 2 years experience.

Junior Engineer (B): Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 1–2 years experience in CNC operations.

Tradesman (B): NTC/NAC in relevant trade with experience.

Project Scientific Officer (C): B.E./B.Tech. in Electronics/Electronics & Telecommunication with 1 year experience.

Library Trainee: Graduate with Bachelor of Library Science.

Temporary Work Assistant: SSC with at least 1 year experience.

Age Limit (as on 01 Jan 2026) :
Maximum 28 years (35 years for Engineer posts).
Relaxation applicable as per rules.

Selection Process :
Interview for Engineer and Junior Engineer posts.
Written Test + Trade Test for Tradesman posts.
Written Test + Skill Test for Library Trainee and Work Assistant.
Written Test/Interview for Project Scientific Officer.
Followed by document verification and medical examination.

How to Apply :
Apply online through the official Tata Institute of Fundamental Research website. Complete the application form, upload required documents, and submit before 16 May 2026. Candidates working in government/PSU organizations must provide NOC during the selection process.

Salary :
Engineer (D): Level 11 (~₹1.38 lakh/month).
Junior Engineer (B): Level 6 (~₹72,000/month).
Tradesman (B): Level 3 (~₹46,000/month).
Project Scientific Officer: ₹1,03,400/month.
Library Trainee: ₹22,000/month.
Temporary Work Assistant: ₹32,300/month.
Includes allowances and benefits as per institute rules.
