SSC Recruitment 2026

Eligibility Criteria :

Nationality :
Applicants must be ;
Citizen of India, or
Subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or
Person of Indian origin from eligible countries with Government of India eligibility certificate.

Educational Qualification :
Candidates must have a Master’s degree in any one of the following combinations ;
Hindi with English as compulsory/elective subject at degree level, or
English with Hindi as compulsory/elective subject at degree level, or
Any other subject with Hindi/English as medium or compulsory subject at degree level.

Additional Requirement :
Diploma/Certificate in translation (Hindi ↔ English) OR
2–3 years of translation experience in Central/State Government offices or PSUs.

Age Limit (as on 01.08.2026) :
Minimum age: 18 years.
Maximum age: 30 years.

Age Relaxation :
SC/ST: 5 years.
OBC: 3 years.
PwBD: 10–15 years (as applicable).
Ex-Servicemen: as per rules.

Application Fee :
₹100 for General/OBC/EWS (male candidates only).
No fee for SC/ST/Women/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen.
Payment to be made online only via UPI, Net Banking, or Debit/Credit Cards.

Examination Pattern :
Paper I (Objective – CBT) ;
General Hindi and General English.
Total: 200 marks.
Negative marking: 0.25 per wrong answer.
Paper II (Descriptive) ;
Translation (Hindi ↔ English).
Essay Writing.
Total: 200 marks.

Selection Process :
Paper I for shortlisting candidates.
Paper II for final assessment.
Final merit based on ;
50% weightage of Paper I + 100% weightage of Paper II.
Document verification by user departments.
Final posting based on merit-cum-preference of posts.

How to Apply :
Candidates must apply online through the official portal ;
Applicants must complete One-Time Registration (OTR), fill the application form, upload a live photograph and signature, and pay the fee (if applicable). Only one application per candidate is allowed, and corrections can be made during the specified correction window.

All details must match Matriculation certificate exactly.
Multiple applications will be rejected.
Posts carry All India Service Liability (AISL).
Final selection is provisional until document verification.
