Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet all prescribed eligibility norms, qualifications, and experience requirements as on 01-06-2026, which is the closing date for submission of applications. Eligibility conditions are governed by the applicable regulations issued by the Government of Maharashtra, UGC, AICTE, and Savitribai Phule Pune University from time to time.
The specialization indicated in the advertisement is only suggestive. Candidates possessing the minimum qualifications prescribed by UGC in relevant or allied subjects are also eligible to apply.

Nationality / Citizenship :
Only candidates holding Indian citizenship are eligible to apply for the post.

Educational Qualification (UGC Norms) :
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in the concerned or relevant/allied subject with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) from a recognized Indian university or an accredited foreign university. A relaxation of 5% marks is applicable for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PwBD candidates. Candidates who obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19 September 1991 are also eligible for relaxation benefits as per rules.

NET / SET Requirement :
Candidates must have qualified NET (UGC/CSIR) or SET or any equivalent UGC-recognized eligibility test. Alternatively, candidates holding a Ph.D. awarded in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009/2016 are exempted from NET/SET, subject to fulfillment of prescribed conditions. In disciplines where NET/SET is not conducted, Ph.D. qualification is mandatory.

Ph.D. Exemption (Pre-2009 Registration) : Candidates claiming exemption from NET/SET based on Ph.D. awarded under earlier regulations must satisfy prescribed conditions such as regular-mode Ph.D., thesis evaluation by two experts, open viva voce, research publications, and conference presentations. Certification from the competent University authority is required.

Foreign Ph.D. Exemption :
Candidates holding a Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked within the top 500 in global rankings (QS/THE/ARWU) are exempted from NET/SET requirement.

Engineering/Technology Eligibility (AICTE Norms) :
Candidates must possess B.E./B.Tech./B.S. along with M.E./M.Tech./M.S. or integrated M.Tech. in the relevant discipline with First Class or equivalent in at least one degree.

Management Eligibility (AICTE Norms) :
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in MBA/PGDM/CA/ICWA/M.Com. with First Class or equivalent, along with a minimum of two years of post-master’s professional experience.

Maharashtra Reservation Rules :
Reservation benefits apply only to categories recognized by the Government of Maharashtra. Candidates from other states under reserved categories will be treated under the Open category.
Media Department Exemption Candidates from reputed institutions such as FTII/SRFTI applying for Media & Communication Studies may be exempted from NET/SET requirement.

Health Sciences Exemption :
Candidates holding an M.D. degree in relevant Health Science disciplines may be exempted from NET/SET requirement as per applicable rules.

Age Criteria :
There is no fixed upper age limit prescribed for contractual Assistant Professor posts.
Age eligibility will be determined strictly as on 01-06-2026 in accordance with applicable rules.
All Categories : Age eligibility will be assessed as on 01-06-2026. No specific maximum age limit has been defined in the notification.
Reserved Categories : Age relaxation, wherever applicable, will be granted as per Government of Maharashtra rules and university regulations.

Application Fee :
Applicants must pay the prescribed fee through online mode only. The fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
Proof of payment must be produced at the time of interview.
Open Category : ₹1,000/- application fee payable online.
Reserved Categories : ₹500/- application fee payable online.

Selection Process :
The selection process includes application screening, document verification, and personal interview.
Only eligible candidates, as per prescribed criteria, will be called for further stages. No communication will be made with candidates who are not found eligible.
Stage 1 : Online Application Screening ;
Candidates must submit applications online within the specified dates. Separate applications are required for each post/department. Applications containing incomplete or incorrect information will be rejected at any stage.
Stage 2 : Document Verification ;
Provisionally shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. Candidates must produce original documents along with photocopies at the time of interview. No physical submission of documents is required before or after the interview.
Stage 3 : Interview ;
Eligible candidates after document verification will be invited for interview. Interview schedule, venue, and timing will be communicated by the respective departments. Candidates must attend at their own expense.

Important Instructions :
This appointment is purely temporary and contractual (up to 31 May 2027).
No claim for permanent or regular appointment is permitted.
Separate applications are mandatory for each post/department.
Hard copy submissions are not accepted.
Eligibility is strictly determined as on 01-06-2026.
Incorrect or false information will lead to disqualification at any stage.
Canvassing in any form will result in rejection of candidature.
Candidates from outside Maharashtra under reserved categories will be treated as Open category.
