Punjab PSSSB Recruitment 2026

Eligibility Conditions :
Before applying, candidates must ensure they satisfy all required conditions related to education, language, and residency.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB – Professional Degree) from a recognized university. Alternatively, candidates who are Barristers (England/Ireland) or Members of the Faculty of Advocates (Scotland) are also eligible.
Applicants must be eligible for enrollment as an Advocate under the Advocates Act, 1961 and should have at least 2 years of legal practice.
It is mandatory to have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as a subject or an equivalent qualification in Punjabi.
Reservation benefits are available only to Punjab residents, and a valid domicile certificate (not older than 5 years) must be provided.
All qualifications must be completed on or before 20 May 2026, which is the cut-off date.

Age Criteria (as on 01 January 2026) :
Minimum age for all candidates: 18 years.
Maximum age for General category: 37 years.
Relaxations ;
SC / BC (Punjab): up to 42 years.
Government employees: up to 45 years.
Persons with Disabilities: up to 47 years.
Widows / Divorcees: up to 40 years.
Ex-Servicemen: as per Punjab Government rules.

Application Fee :
₹500/- for Ex-Servicemen, EWS, PwD, and LDESM (Punjab).
₹750/- for SC / BC candidates (Punjab).
₹1,500/- for all other candidates.
The fee must be paid online and is non-refundable.

Selection Procedure :
The recruitment process will be conducted in multiple stages ;
Written Examination: Objective-type test with multiple-choice questions. Each question carries 1 mark, and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
Merit List: Prepared based on marks obtained in the written test. In case of a tie, preference will be given based on age, higher qualification marks, and matriculation marks.
Counselling & Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called to verify original documents.
Final Recommendation: Candidates who meet all eligibility criteria will be recommended for appointment based on merit and vacancies.

Important Guidelines :
No changes will be allowed after submitting the application form.
Category and category code once selected cannot be modified later.
Only Punjab residents are eligible for reservation benefits.
Applications without complete fee payment or required documents will be rejected.
Candidates must regularly check the official website for updates regarding exam dates, admit cards, and results.
Appearing in the exam or being shortlisted does not guarantee final selection.
No travel allowance will be provided for exam or counselling.
