Eligibility Requirements

Manager:
Applicants must hold a Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering along with a valid 1st Class Manager’s Certificate of Competency. Candidates should have gained either at least 2 years of experience in an opencast coal mining project as Manager/Assistant Manager (or equivalent) after obtaining the 1st Class Coal Mines Manager’s Certificate under CMR 1957/2017, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in an opencast coal mine after securing the same certification.

Assistant Manager:
Candidates should possess a Degree/Diploma in Mining Engineering with a 1st or 2nd Class Manager’s Certificate of Competency, or Matriculation with a 1st/2nd Class Manager’s Certificate. A minimum of 1 year of post-certification experience in a coal mine under CMR 1957/2017 is required. Candidates with 10 to 12 years of relevant post-qualification experience may also be considered as per applicable norms.

Colliery Engineer:
Applicants must have a Degree in Mechanical or Mining Machinery Engineering, or a Degree in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering along with a valid Electrical Supervisory Competency Certificate (Mining). They should have at least 7 years of experience in maintenance and repair of Heavy Earth Moving Machinery, preferably in large opencast mines. Alternatively, candidates with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in maintenance, repair, or commissioning of electrical equipment in large opencast mines are eligible. Experience in electrical substations will be an added advantage.

Surveyor:
Candidates must hold a Diploma in Survey Engineering with a DGMS Surveyor’s Certificate, or Matriculation with a DGMS-certified Surveyor’s Certificate. At least 1 year of experience in an opencast coal mine after obtaining the certificate under CMR 1957/2017 is required. Those with 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience are also eligible.

Overman:
Applicants should have a Diploma in Mining Engineering with a valid Overman’s Certificate of Competency, or Matriculation with an Overman’s Certificate. A minimum of 1 year of experience as an Overman in an opencast coal mine after certification under Coal Mines Regulation 1957/2017 is required. Candidates with 5 years of post-qualification experience may also apply.

Mining Sirdar:
Candidates must have Matriculation with a Diploma in Mining Engineering and an Overman’s Certificate of Competency, or Matriculation with a Mining Sirdarship Certificate of Competency along with Gas Testing and First Aid Certificates. Applicants should have at least 1 year of experience in an opencast coal mine after obtaining a valid competency certificate issued by DGMS, Dhanbad, as per Coal Mines Regulation 2017. Alternatively, candidates with 3 years of relevant experience after acquiring the Mining Sirdarship Certificate are eligible.
