NFR Apprentice Recruitment 2026 :
Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has released the Centralized Notification No. NFR/NAPS/ACT APP./2026 dated 14 July 2026 for the engagement of 6777 Act Apprentice posts.
The recruitment is conducted under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for the apprenticeship training cycles 2025-2026 and 2026-2027.

NFR Apprentice Vacancy Details 2026 :

NFR Apprentice Trades and Departments :
Apprentices will be engaged in departments such as Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering, Signal & Telecommunication, Personnel, Medical, Accounts, and Stores.
Common trades include Fitter, Electrician, Wireman, Welder, Turner, Machinist, Carpenter, Plumber, COPA, Mechanic Diesel, Mason, Draughtsman (Civil), Surveyor, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic, Secretarial Assistant, Health Sanitary Inspector, and Medical Laboratory Technician.
Selected workshops also offer specialized trades such as TIG/MIG Welder, Structural Welder, CNC Programmer cum Operator, Instrument Mechanic, and Quality Assurance Assistant.

NFR Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2026 :
Candidates applying for most trades must have passed Matriculation (Class 10) with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board.
Applicants must possess a National Trade Certificate (ITI) or Provisional Certificate issued by NCVT/SCVT in the relevant trade.
For Medical Laboratory Technician trades, candidates must have passed 12th Science with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology along with the prescribed minimum marks.
The 50% Matriculation marks requirement is exempted for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates.
Candidates must possess the required ITI certificate as on 14 July 2026.

NFR Apprentice Age Limit 2026 :
Minimum age required is 15 years.
Maximum age limit is 24 years as on 19 August 2026.
SC/ST candidates are eligible for 5 years age relaxation.
OBC candidates receive 3 years age relaxation.
PwBD candidates are eligible for 10 years age relaxation.
Ex-Servicemen are eligible for age relaxation as per Government rules.

NFR Apprentice Stipend 2026 :
Selected apprentices will receive a minimum monthly stipend of ₹9,600.
Eligible second-year apprentices will receive ₹10,560 per month.
Eligible third-year apprentices will receive ₹11,040 per month.
Stipend rates are subject to revision as per Government notifications.
Hostel accommodation will not be provided during the apprenticeship.

NFR Apprentice Application Fee 2026 :
General, OBC, and EWS male candidates must pay an application fee of ₹100.
SC, ST, PwBD, EBC candidates, and all women applicants are exempted from paying the application fee.
Application correction after submission requires payment of ₹50 per correction.
Registration details cannot be modified after submission.

NFR Apprentice Selection Process 2026 :
Selection is based entirely on merit, and no written examination will be conducted.
Merit will be prepared using the average percentage of Matriculation and ITI marks.
For Medical Laboratory Technician trades, merit is prepared using Matriculation and Class 12 Science marks.
Separate merit lists will be prepared for each Unit, Trade, and Category.
Candidates shortlisted for merit will be called for Document Verification.
