Eligibility Criteria :
Applications are open to Indian Nationals and OCI cardholders who meet the eligibility requirements as per UGC norms, NIT Statutes, and Government of India regulations. The Institute encourages applications from women candidates and aims to maintain diversity.
All qualifications and selection conditions must strictly follow prescribed norms.

Educational Qualification & Experience :

Assistant Professor (Grade II / Grade I) :
First Class in UG and PG in relevant discipline with PhD in appropriate specialization. Candidates with integrated or direct PhD from reputed institutions are also eligible if other conditions are met.

Associate Professor :
PhD with required teaching, research, or industry experience and credit points as per NIT and Government of India norms.
Professor:
PhD with strong academic record, significant research output, leadership in the field, and required experience as per applicable regulations.
First Class is defined as 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (10-point scale) where not explicitly specified.
Department-wise Eligibility (Indicative) ;
Eligibility varies by department and specialization ;
Engineering disciplines (Chemical, Civil, CSE, etc.): UG/PG/PhD in relevant engineering areas
Mathematics & Computational Sciences: Degrees in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, AI/ML, or related fields

Age Limit & Experience :
No fixed uniform upper age limit for all posts.
Candidates above 60 years may be considered only if they have exceptional research and funded project contributions.
Only regular full-time experience (more than 6 months) is considered valid.
Visiting, guest, or temporary experience will not be counted.
NITK PhD holders must have minimum 3 years post-PhD experience outside NITK (except existing faculty).

Application Fee :
General / OBC / EWS : ₹2,500 (including GST).
SC / ST / PwD : ₹1,250 (including GST).
Payment must be made online/NEFT/RTGS to the designated NITK account. Proof of payment must be uploaded.

Pay Scale & Benefits :
Assistant Professor Grade II: Level 10.
Assistant Professor Grade I: Level 12.
Associate Professor: Level 13A2.
Professor: Level 14A.

Selection Process :
Screening of Applications based on academic record, research, and eligibility.
Shortlisting for presentation and interview.
Teaching & Research Presentation before the selection committee.
Final Interview & Merit Evaluation based on overall performance and departmental needs.
Final decision of the Institute will be final and binding.
