NCERT SRA and JPF Recruitment 2026 Notification :
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has officially released the NCERT SRA and JPF Recruitment 2026 Notification through its Department of Curriculum Studies & Development (DCS&D), New Delhi.
The recruitment notification has been issued to fill 05 contractual vacancies, including 01 Senior Research Associate (SRA) and 04 Junior Project Fellow (JPF) posts under various Programme Advisory Committee (PAC) approved educational research projects for the financial year 2026–27.
This recruitment provides an excellent opportunity for candidates who possess postgraduate qualifications in Education, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, or Language and are interested in educational research, curriculum development, academic content creation, and policy implementation.
Interested candidates are not required to submit any online application, as the selection process will be conducted through a Walk-in Interview.
The walk-in interview is scheduled to be held on 15 July 2026 at Room No. 210, Second Floor, CIET Building, NCERT, New Delhi.
Candidates must carefully read the official notification before attending the interview to understand the educational qualifications, age criteria, salary structure, selection procedure, tenure, and required documents.
Since these appointments are purely temporary and project-based, the selected candidates will be engaged only for the specified duration of the respective research programmes.

NCERT SRA and JPF Recruitment 2026 Important Dates :
The official recruitment advertisement was released on 03 July 2026 by NCERT.
The Walk-in Interview for all notified posts will be conducted on 15 July 2026.
The registration process at the interview venue will be conducted from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM only.
Candidates reporting after 12:30 PM will not be permitted to register or participate in the interview under any circumstances.
Since there is no online application process, candidates should prepare all required documents before the interview date.
Applicants are advised to reach the venue at least 30–60 minutes early to avoid last-minute delays in registration and document verification.
NCERT Vacancy Details 2026 :
NCERT has announced a total of 05 vacancies under three different Programme Advisory Committee (PAC) approved research programmes.
Out of the total vacancies, 01 post is reserved for Senior Research Associate (SRA) and 04 posts are available for Junior Project Fellows (JPFs).
The selected candidates will work on educational research, curriculum development, course material preparation, translation work, and academic project implementation.
The appointments are purely contractual and will remain valid only for the duration of the respective projects.
NCERT reserves the right to modify the number of vacancies depending upon project requirements and administrative decisions.

NCERT SRA and JPF Recruitment 2026 Age Limit :
Candidates applying for the Senior Research Associate (SRA) post should be below 45 years of age.
Candidates applying for the Junior Project Fellow (JPF) posts should be below 40 years of age.
The age limit will be determined according to the provisions mentioned in the official recruitment notification.
Age relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, and other reserved category candidates will be provided as per the Government of India rules and NCERT guidelines.
Candidates should verify their eligibility before attending the interview to avoid rejection during document verification.
NCERT SRA and JPF Recruitment 2026 Educational Qualification :
Senior Research Associate (SRA) :
Candidates should possess a Postgraduate Degree in Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Language, or Education from a recognized university.
General category candidates should have secured at least 55% marks, while SC/ST/PwBD candidates require a minimum of 50% marks.
Applicants must possess a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in educational research, teaching, curriculum development, training, extension activities, or content development related to school education.
Candidates claiming experience must submit valid documentary proof such as salary slips, bank statements, or Income Tax Returns (ITR) during the interview.
Preference will be given to candidates possessing B.Ed./M.Ed. qualifications, proficiency in MS Office, educational research methodologies, report writing, statistical data analysis, field surveys, and excellent communication skills.
Junior Project Fellow (JPF) :
Candidates should possess a Postgraduate Degree in Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Language, or Education from a recognized university.
A minimum of 55% marks is required for General category candidates, while 50% marks are required for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
Candidates with B.Ed./M.Ed. qualifications, computer proficiency, educational research experience, content writing ability, and MS Office knowledge will be given preference.
For Programme 7.04, candidates having practical experience in translation of educational materials between English and Hindi will receive additional preference during selection.
Important Qualification Notes :
Experience should be directly related to Research, Teaching, Educational Training, Extension Activities, Curriculum Development, or School Education.
Time spent pursuing M.Phil. or Ph.D. programmes will not be counted as professional teaching or research experience.
Candidates should possess all educational qualifications and supporting documents before attending the interview.
NCERT SRA and JPF Recruitment 2026 Salary / Pay Scale :
Selected candidates will receive an attractive monthly consolidated remuneration according to the post and qualification.
Senior Research Associates (NET/Ph.D. qualified) will receive ₹42,000 per month.
Senior Research Associates (Non-NET candidates) will receive ₹40,000 per month.
Junior Project Fellows (NET/Ph.D. qualified) will receive ₹37,000 per month.
Junior Project Fellows (Non-NET candidates) will receive ₹35,000 per month.
The tenure for Programme 7.01 and Programme 7.03 will continue up to 31 March 2027.
The appointment for Programme 7.04 will remain valid for six months from the date of joining.
Since the appointments are contractual, no additional allowances or permanent employment benefits will be provided unless specifically mentioned by NCERT.
NCERT SRA and JPF Recruitment 2026 Application Fee :
NCERT has not prescribed any application fee for participating in this recruitment process.
Candidates belonging to General, OBC, EWS, SC, ST, PwBD, and other categories can attend the walk-in interview without paying any registration or examination fee.
Since the recruitment is conducted entirely through a Walk-in Interview, there is no online fee payment process.
Applicants only need to carry the prescribed application form and all necessary documents on the interview date.
NCERT SRA and JPF Recruitment 2026 Selection Process :
Selection for the Senior Research Associate and Junior Project Fellow posts will be conducted solely through a Walk-in Interview.
There will be no written examination, online test, or skill test for this recruitment.
During the interview, candidates will be assessed based on their educational qualifications, relevant experience, research aptitude, subject knowledge, communication skills, and overall suitability for the respective project.
Original certificates and supporting documents will be verified before the interview process.
Final selection will be made by the NCERT Selection Committee, and its decision will be final and binding on all candidates.
