Meghalaya Border Wing Home Guards Recruitment 2026

Eligibility :
You can apply only if you meet all of these conditions ;
You are an Indian citizen.
You are a domicile of Meghalaya.
You are a Home Guards Volunteer who has already served with Requisitioning Agencies for 3 full years (1095 days).
You are not more than 50 years old as on 15 April 2026.

What This Enrollment Means (Deployment & Pay) :
Before applying, understand what you’re signing up for ;
This is a temporary, voluntary engagement — not a permanent job.
There is no chance of regularisation or permanent posting in the department.
You will serve for 1 year, which can be extended if your performance is good.
You will be posted in remote border areas of Khasi, Jaintia, and Garo Hills (near Bangladesh).
You will receive honoraria under the “Wages – Highly Skilled Category” plus Risk Allowance, as set by the Meghalaya Labour & Employment Department.
The department can remove you at any time, without giving a reason.
No one can claim a permanent position based on this deployment.

How Candidates Are Selected :
Selection is based on a Personal Interview. You will not receive a separate interview letter — you must check the list and dates yourself.
There are 3 stages ;
Apply Offline ;
Submit the Prescribed Standard Form with all documents to your District Home Guards Office, District Training Centre, or Civil Defence Office.
Application Scrutiny ;
The department checks if you meet eligibility and document requirements.
Personal Interview ;
Held at Tura or Shillong.

No travel or stay allowance (TA/DA) is given.

Documents You Must Submit :
Your application must be in the Prescribed Standard Form and must include self-attested copies of all documents. If anything is missing, your application will be rejected, and no follow-up will be done.
Include ;
2 recent passport-size photos.
Paste one on the form.
Educational Certificate.
Birth Certificate or Age Certificate (school record).
Meghalaya EPIC Card.
Home Guards Basic Training Certificate.
Medical Fitness Certificate.
From an authorised Government doctor/institution.
Deployment Period Certificate.
Issued by your District Commandant, District Training Centre Officer, or Deputy Controller of Civil Defence
In the prescribed format.

How to Apply (Offline Process Only) :
This enrollment is 100% offline. There is no website form to fill. You must get the form and submit it physically or by post before 6 July 2026.

Get the Prescribed Standard Form from ;
District Home Guards Commandant offices: Shillong, Jowai, Tura.
District Training Centres: Nongpoh, Nongstoin, Williamnagar, Baghmara, Khliehriat, Mawkyrwat, Ampati, Resubelpara.
Civil Defence Offices.
Deputy Commissioner offices of all districts.

Fill the form carefully with correct details.
Paste one photo on the form; keep the second photo aside.
Attach self-attested copies of all required documents.
Attach the Deployment Period Certificate (prescribed format) from your authority.
Submit the complete application to ;
Your District Home Guards Office, or
District Training Centre, or
Civil Defence Office.
From where you are currently deployed.
If you work in Government/PSU/Autonomous body, send your application through your administrative authority.
Make sure it reaches by 6 July 2026.
Late applications will not be accepted.

Important Rules to Follow :
All volunteers must follow these rules. If you don’t, you may be disqualified or stopped at the interview.
The department is not responsible for any injury or damage during the process.
You must stay for 2–3 days at your own cost. No TA/DA is given.
Carry a valid ID card always.
Bring original documents to the interview.
Canvassing will lead to disqualification.
Bribery will lead to disqualification and possible legal action.
The department may cancel the process at any time without reason.
Reservation policy does not apply — this is a voluntary role.
