Essential Requirements:
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences or allied basic sciences from a recognized university. A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the concerned discipline is required, gained as a Scientist, Lecturer, Extension Specialist, or in an equivalent role under Pay Band-3 (₹15,600–39,100) with Grade Pay ranging from ₹5,400 to ₹8,000.
Candidates should have a proven record of contributions in research, teaching, or extension activities, supported by quality publications, innovations, and demonstrated impact.
Desirable Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates possessing a Ph.D. in disciplines such as Agricultural Extension, Agronomy, Plant Breeding, Livestock Production, Horticulture, Home/Community Sciences, Agricultural Engineering, Fisheries, Agro-forestry, Soil Science, or Plant Protection. Experience in supervising and monitoring extension programmes will be considered an added advantage.
Subject Matter Specialist :
Applicants must have completed a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Entomology, Plant Pathology, or an equivalent specialization from a recognized institution.
Age Criteria :
Subject Matter Specialist: Upper age limit of 35 years.
Sr. Scientist-cum-Head: Upper age limit of 47 years.
Pay Scale :
The selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of ₹56,100 to ₹1,31,400 per month, along with applicable allowances as per prevailing government rules.
