KVAFSU Recruitment 2026

Eligibility Conditions :
Candidates applying for the teaching positions under KVAFSU Recruitment 2026 must satisfy all prescribed educational qualifications, experience requirements, and language eligibility conditions on or before the last date of application submission. Applicants belonging to Veterinary Science disciplines are also required to possess valid registration with the Karnataka Veterinary Council (KVC) or Veterinary Council of India (VCI). Proficiency in Kannada is compulsory for all advertised posts.


Professor : Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science, Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Dairy Science, Fisheries Science, or an equivalent discipline from a recognized institution. A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) and a Ph.D. in the relevant or allied subject are mandatory. Candidates should also possess strong academic credentials with a minimum of 10 research publications published in NAAS-rated or UGC-listed journals. Minimum 10 years of teaching, research, or extension experience, including at least 2 years served in the cadre of Associate Professor or equivalent position.

Associate Professor : Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in the concerned discipline with the prescribed minimum marks. A Ph.D. in the relevant or allied subject along with a good academic record is essential. Applicants must also fulfill the university-prescribed academic score requirements and possess knowledge of Kannada language. Minimum 8 years of teaching/research/extension experience with at least 7 publications in recognized academic journals.

Assistant Professor : Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with minimum required marks from recognized universities. Candidates should have qualified NET/SLET/SET conducted by UGC, ICAR, or CSIR, or hold a Ph.D. degree eligible for NET exemption under UGC Regulations. Knowledge of Kannada is mandatory for all applicants. No mandatory prior experience required; however, candidates with higher qualifications or NET credentials may be given preference.
NET / Ph.D. Exemption Provisions

Subjects Without NET Examination Candidates belonging to subjects where NET examination is not conducted by UGC/ICAR/CSIR are exempted from the NET qualification requirement.

Foreign University Ph.D. Holders : Applicants possessing a Ph.D. degree from internationally ranked universities listed among the global top 500 institutions may claim exemption from NET as per Government guidelines.

Ph.D. Registered Before 11 July 2009 : Candidates registered for Ph.D. prior to 11 July 2009 may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET if they fulfill prescribed academic and research conditions, including thesis evaluation, viva voce, research publications, and conference presentations certified by the concerned university authority.

Age Limit :
Age criteria are applicable mainly for Assistant Professor positions and will be calculated as on 20 June 2026.
General Merit : 40 Years.
2A / 2B / 3A / 3B Categories : 43 Years.
SC / ST / Category-I : 45 Years.
In-service Candidates As per Karnataka Government norms.
No specific upper age limit has been prescribed for Professor and Associate Professor posts.

Application Fee :
Candidates are required to pay the application fee through online mode after successful form submission.
GM / 2A / 2B / 3A / 3B : ₹1,000
SC / ST / Category-I : ₹500
Separate application fees must be paid for each post applied for. The fee once paid is non-refundable.

Recruitment Process :
Selection of eligible candidates will be conducted through the following stages ;
Stage 1 : Screening & Academic Score Evaluation ;
Applications will be scrutinized based on educational qualifications, experience, academic achievements, publications, and score card criteria prescribed by the university.
Stage 2 : Kannada Language Qualification Test
Candidates who have not studied Kannada at SSLC level must qualify a Kannada language examination with minimum required marks before interview eligibility.
Stage 3 : Verification of Documents ;
Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce original certificates, mark sheets, publications, and supporting documents for verification.
Stage 4 – Personal Interview ;
Eligible applicants clearing all previous stages will be invited for interview and final merit selection as per university rules and reservation policies.

Candidates Not Eligible to Apply :
The following applicants may not be considered eligible ;
Candidates without the required Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the relevant discipline.
Applicants lacking mandatory NET/Ph.D. qualifications wherever applicable.
Veterinary Science candidates without valid KVC/VCI registration.
Candidates unwilling to qualify Kannada language requirements.
Applicants exceeding the prescribed age limit for Assistant Professor posts.
Candidates without the required publications or experience for senior-level posts.
