The Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) has released the official KPSC Gazetted Probationers Recruitment 2026 notification for the recruitment year 2026-27. Through this recruitment drive, KPSC has announced 319 vacancies for various Gazetted Probationers posts under Group A and Group B categories in different departments of the Karnataka Government.

Candidates applying for the KPSC Gazetted Probationers Recruitment 2026 must satisfy the prescribed educational qualification, age and other eligibility requirements.

Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) Gazetted Probationers Recruitment 2026 Educational Qualification:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree from a University established by law in India.
An equivalent qualification is also accepted as prescribed under the applicable rules.

General Merit Maximum Age: 40 years.
Category 2A/2B/3A/3B Maximum Age: 43 years.

The KPSC Gazetted Probationers selection process consists of :
Preliminary Examination.
Main Examination.
Personality Test/Interview.

Preliminary Examination :
The Preliminary Examination is an objective-type screening examination consisting of two papers.
Paper I: General Studies relating to national and international importance
Paper II: General Studies relating to state importance, General Science and Technology, Environment and Ecology, and General Mental Ability.
Questions: 100 in each paper.
Marks: 200 in each paper.
Duration: 2 hours per paper.
Total Marks: 400.
Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
Preliminary Examination marks are used for screening and are not counted towards the final merit. Candidates are admitted to the Main Examination in a ratio of 1:15 against notified vacancies, subject to category-wise representation.

Main Examination :
The Main Examination is descriptive/conventional in nature and consists of five compulsory papers along with two qualifying language papers.
Kannada – 150 marks.
English – 150 marks.
Essay – 250 marks.
General Studies-1 – 250 marks.
General Studies-2 – 250 marks.
General Studies-3 – 250 marks.
General Studies-4 – 250 marks.
The written Main Examination carries 1,250 marks.
The Kannada and English papers are qualifying in nature. Candidates must secure at least 35% marks in each qualifying language paper. These marks are not counted towards merit.

Personality Test :
Candidates qualifying in the Main Examination are called for the Personality Test/Interview.
Maximum Marks: 25.
Candidates are called for the Personality Test in a ratio of 1:3 against notified vacancies.
The Personality Test contributes to the final merit.
