Eligibility Requirements :
Candidates must be Indian nationals and should possess only the qualification prescribed for the respective trade or discipline. Higher qualifications than required will not be considered. Only full-time regular courses are accepted; distance learning, correspondence, and part-time qualifications are not eligible.

Graduate and Technician candidates must have completed their qualification within the last three years from the date of passing. Applicants who have already completed or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 are not eligible to apply.

If a candidate has CGPA-based results, they must provide the equivalent percentage as per their institute’s conversion rules along with a valid certificate during document verification. Where aggregate marks are not provided, the average of all semesters or years will be considered as the final score.

All candidates must register on the appropriate apprenticeship portal before applying. ITI or Trade candidates must register on the NAPS portal, while Graduate and Technician candidates must register on the NATS portal.

Age Criteria (as on 15 May 2026) :
The minimum age required is 18 years, and the maximum age is 25 years for general candidates. Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules: OBC candidates get 3 years relaxation, SC/ST candidates get 5 years relaxation, and PwD candidates receive up to 10 years additional relaxation over their category limit.

Application Fee :
There is no application fee for this recruitment. Registration on NAPS or NATS is also free. However, candidates must bear their own postal or courier charges for sending the hard copy application.

Stipend and Training Conditions :
Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as per the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, as revised by the Government of India. No additional benefits such as accommodation, travel allowance, or other financial assistance will be provided. Candidates must arrange their own accommodation.
IREL does not guarantee any permanent employment after completion of the apprenticeship.

Selection Process :
Selection will be based on merit, calculated from marks obtained in the qualifying examination. In case of a tie, preference will be given to higher marks, and if still unresolved, the older candidate will be selected.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification, followed by medical fitness examination and police verification before final engagement.

Selection Priority System :
Preference will be given in the following order ;
Land-affected candidates.
Residents within 7 km of OSCOM.
Wards of IREL employees (including deceased employees).
Residents within 7–10 km of OSCOM.
Odisha domicile candidates.
Candidates from other states.

Candidates must complete both online registration and hard copy submission.
ITI/Trade candidates: Register on NAPS portal.
Graduate/Technician candidates: Register on NATS portal.

10th certificate (DOB proof).
Qualification mark sheets and certificates.
Category certificates (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD).
Income & asset certificate (for EWS).
Academic transcripts.
Aadhaar card.
APAAR ID / ABC ID.
NAPS/NATS registration proof.
Land/peripheral village proof (if applicable).
Police verification certificate (mandatory before joining).

Important Notes :
Distance, correspondence, and part-time qualifications are not accepted.
Candidates with higher qualifications than required are not eligible.
Both online registration and physical application are compulsory.
No accommodation or allowances will be provided.
Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
Final selection is subject to medical fitness and document verification.
