IOCL Apprentices Recruitment 2026

Eligibility Criteria :

Technician Apprentice:
Candidates must have completed a 3-year full-time Diploma in the relevant engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, Electrical & Electronics, or Electronics from a recognized institute or university. A minimum of 50% marks is required for General/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates and 45% marks for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

Trade Apprentice (ITI):
Applicants should have passed Matriculation (10th class) and possess a full-time 2-year ITI certificate in the relevant trade such as Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, or Machinist from an institute recognized by NCVT or SCVT.

Graduate Apprentice:
Candidates must hold a full-time Bachelor’s degree (BA, B.Com, B.Sc, or BBA) from a recognized university or institute with at least 50% marks for General/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates and 45% marks for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

Trade Apprentice – Data Entry Operator (Fresher):
Applicants should have passed Class 12 (but should not be graduates) with a minimum of 50% marks for General/EWS/OBC-NCL and 45% marks for SC/ST/PwBD from a recognized board.

Trade Apprentice – Data Entry Operator (Skill Certificate Holders):
Candidates must have Class 12 qualification (below graduate level) along with a Domestic Data Entry Operator skill certificate issued by an authority recognized under the National Skill Qualifications Framework (NSQF) or by the Central Government.

Important Conditions:
All qualifications must be obtained through regular full-time courses from recognized institutions.
Part-time, correspondence, or distance learning qualifications are not eligible.
For Graduate and Technician Apprentice posts, the qualification must have been obtained between 01 April 2022 and 28 February 2026.
For Trade Apprentice posts (ITI/Data Entry Operator), the qualification must have been obtained between 01 April 2021 and 28 February 2026.
Candidates with higher qualifications such as B.E./B.Tech, MBA, MCA, CA, ICWA, LLB, or equivalent are not eligible.
Diploma candidates admitted through the lateral entry scheme are eligible if they meet the required aggregate marks.
A candidate can undertake a maximum of two apprenticeship trainings, provided the second training is in a different trade.

Salary / Stipend :
Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as per the provisions of the Apprentices Act and Apprenticeship Rules, as amended from time to time. The exact stipend amount has not been specified in the official notification.

Age Limit (as on 28-02-2026) :
Minimum Age: 18 Years.
Maximum Age: 24 Years.

Age Relaxation:
SC/ST: 5 years.
OBC-NCL: 3 years.
PwBD: Up to 10 years (15 years for SC/ST PwBD and 13 years for OBC-NCL PwBD).
Cut-off date for age calculation: 28 February 2026.
