Indian Navy Agniveer Recruitment 2026

Eligibility Criteria :

The Indian Navy invites online applications from unmarried male candidates for enrolment as Sailors in the Medical Branch (SSR – Med) for the 02/2027 batch. Applicants must meet the eligibility standards prescribed by the Government of India for naval service.

Candidates must have passed the 10+2 (Intermediate) examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) from a board recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. They must secure at least 50% marks in aggregate and a minimum of 40% marks in each of the subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology). Candidates should also have passed Matriculation (10th class) from a recognized board.

Students who are appearing in the Class 12 board examination for the academic year 2025–26 may also apply. However, such candidates must produce their original marksheet during the later stages of recruitment and meet the prescribed minimum marks in both aggregate and individual subjects.

Applicants must be physically and mentally fit for service at sea and on shore. The minimum height required is 157 cm for male candidates, with relaxations applicable as per Government rules. The required visual standards are 6/12, 6/12 (uncorrected) and 6/6, 6/6 (corrected) with CP Pass for colour vision.

Permanent body tattoos are allowed only on the inner face of the forearms (from elbow to wrist) and on the reverse side of the palm/back of the hand. Tattoos on any other part of the body are not permitted and may lead to disqualification. Candidates must also satisfy the medical standards determined by authorised naval doctors during the recruitment medical examination and pre-enrolment medicals conducted at INS Chilka.

Salary / Stipend :
During the initial training period, candidates will receive a stipend of Rs. 14,600 per month. After successfully completing training, sailors will be placed in Level 3 of the Defence Pay Matrix (Rs. 21,700 – Rs. 69,100) along with Military Service Pay (MSP) of Rs. 5,200 per month and applicable allowances.

Sailors can be promoted up to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer-I, which corresponds to Level 8 of the Defence Pay Matrix (Rs. 47,600 – Rs. 1,51,100) along with MSP and Dearness Allowance. During service, personnel will receive uniforms, food, accommodation, medical facilities, travel concessions, housing benefits, leave entitlements, education allowance for children, and retirement benefits such as pension and gratuity as per Government regulations. Sailors are also covered by an insurance scheme of Rs. 75 lakhs.

Age Limit :
Candidates must be born between 01 May 2005 and 31 October 2009 (both dates inclusive) to apply for the SSR (Med) 02/2027 batch. Only unmarried male candidates within this age range are eligible to apply.

Application Fee :
Applicants are required to pay an examination fee of Rs. 550 plus 18% GST while submitting the Stage I – INET application form. The fee must be paid online through net banking, debit/credit card, or UPI. Admit cards will be issued only to candidates who complete the payment successfully.

The application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. Candidates submitting multiple applications will be rejected and debarred, and the fee will not be refunded. If the payment fails but the amount is deducted, candidates should wait up to 7 working days for the automatic refund. No additional fee will be required for the Stage II selection process.
