Qualification Criteria :
Candidates must possess the prescribed engineering degree based on post requirements ;

AE (Civil – R&B / GMB) : B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering.

AE (Mechanical – GMB) : B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

Additional Conditions :
Degree must be from a recognized university or deemed university under UGC Act.
Basic computer proficiency as per Gujarat Civil Services Rules.
Knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi language is required.
Qualification must be valid at the time of preliminary scrutiny list publication.

Age Eligibility :
Maximum age limit: 35 years (as on 19 June 2026).
Age Relaxation Rules ;
Relaxation is applicable as per government norms ;
SC/ST/SEBC/EWS (Male, Gujarat origin): 5 years.
General category women: 5 years.
SC/ST/SEBC/EWS women: 10 years.
PwD candidates: 10 years.
Ex-servicemen: service period + 3 years.
Gujarat Maritime Board employees: as per special provisions.

Consent Deposit Requirement :
A mandatory consent mechanism is applicable to confirm participation in the examination.
Deposit Amount ;
General (Male): ₹500 + charges.
Reserved categories / Women / PwD / Ex-servicemen: ₹400 + charges.
Purpose ;
Confirms candidate’s commitment to appear in examination.
Refund applicable only if candidate appears.
Forfeited in case of absence.

Application Procedure :
Applications must be submitted exclusively through the GPSC OJAS online portal.
Application Flow ;
Complete OTR registration.
Apply under relevant advertisement number.
Fill all required details accurately.
Upload photograph and signature.
Submit and note application/confirmation number.
Pay applicable fee (if required).
Print final submitted application.
Editing & Correction Window ;
Application editing allowed until 19 June 2026 (11:59 PM).
Consent form submission is mandatory within prescribed timeline.

Application Fee Structure :
General category: ₹100 + charges.
SC/ST/SEBC/EWS (Gujarat), PwD, Ex-servicemen: No fee.
Other state reserved categories: ₹100 + charges.
Fee is non-refundable under all circumstances.

Pay Structure :
Selected candidates will be appointed in ;
Pay Level: Level-8 (7th CPC).
Pay Scale: ₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400.
Starting Basic Pay: ₹44,900.

Gujarat Maritime Board posts follow separate service conditions.

Selection Scheme :
Selection is carried out in two stages ;
Preliminary Examination.
Personal Interview.
Final merit is prepared on a 50:50 weighted evaluation system.
Preliminary Examination Pattern ;
Total marks: 300.
Objective type questions.
Paper Structure ;
General Studies: 100 marks (60 minutes).
Concerned Subject: 200 marks (120 minutes).
Minimum qualifying marks: 15%.
Interview Stage ;
Conducted after prelim qualification.
Shortlisting based on vacancy ratio.
Marks contribute directly to final merit.
Interview Call Ratio ;
1 vacancy - 10 candidates.
2 vacancies - 16 candidates.
3 vacancies - 18 candidates.
4+ vacancies - 3× vacancies or 20 candidates (whichever higher).
Final Merit Calculation ;
Final selection is based on ;
Preliminary Exam score (50% weightage).
Interview score (50% weightage).
Combined score out of 100.

Exam Centre & Instructions :
Preliminary exam generally held in Ahmedabad or Gandhinagar.
Travel expenses borne by candidates.
Original documents required at interview stage.
No offline document submission allowed.
