GMCH Recruitment 2026

Eligibility Criteria :
Candidates must satisfy all eligibility requirements on the date of the Walk-in-Interview (25-05-2026). Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
Applicants are required to bring a completed application form along with original documents, photocopies, and application fee to the designated venue:
Establishment Branch-II, Block-D, GMCH-32, Chandigarh before 11:00 A.M.

Educational Qualification :
Applicants must possess a recognized postgraduate medical qualification in the relevant specialty, such as ;
MD / MS / DNB / MCh / DM or equivalent.
Qualification must be recognized by NMC / MCI.
Valid registration with State Medical Council or Medical Council of India is mandatory.

Senior Residency Condition :
Candidates who have completed three years of Senior Residency are not eligible.
Senior Residency completed under the Central Residency Scheme will be included in the total 3-year calculation.

Government Employee Requirement :
Candidates already employed in government service must apply through proper channel.
A valid No Objection Certificate (NOC) is mandatory.
Selected candidates must submit NOC within 3 days of interview.

Ineligibility Conditions :
Applicants will not be considered if they ;
Were previously terminated from GMCH due to misconduct or disciplinary reasons.
Do not hold recognized postgraduate medical qualifications.
Fail to meet eligibility criteria on the cutoff date.

Age Limit :
Maximum age allowed is 45 years as on 01-05-2026.
General / EWS : Up to 45 years.
OBC : +3 years.
SC : +5 years.
Government employees :+5 years.
Widows / divorced / judicially separated women : +10 years.

Application Fee :
Fee must be paid at the time of walk-in interview.
Non-refundable under any circumstances.
General / OBC / EWS : ₹500.
SC : ₹250.
Fee is required only once even if applying for multiple posts.

Selection Method :
Selection will be conducted through a direct Walk-in-Interview process.

Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Step 2: Interview ;
Interview scheduled at 2:00 P.M. on 25-05-2026.

Step 3: Final Selection ;
Based on interview performance and committee recommendation.
Reservation norms will be followed.
Final vacancy count may vary.

Nature of Appointment :
Appointment is temporary and tenure-based (6 months initially).
Extension depends on institutional requirement and approval.
No claim to permanent employment or regularization.
Services may be discontinued at any stage based on performance.

Who is Not Eligible :
Candidates should not apply if they ;
Have completed 3 years of Senior Residency.
Do not hold recognized PG medical degrees.
Are not Indian citizens.
Exceed the age limit without relaxation.
Were previously removed from GMCH for disciplinary reasons.
Fail to produce required NOC (for government employees).
Possess unrecognized qualifications.
Expect permanent employment or absorption.
