Eligibility Criteria :
Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply. Candidates must complete mandatory registration on the NATS or NAPS portal before attending the walk-in interview.
Only candidates who have passed their qualifying examination in 2022 or later are eligible. Candidates who passed before 2022 are not eligible.
Only candidates who have completed their qualification as regular students are eligible.
Candidates whose results are not declared or unavailable on the date of interview will not be considered.
Provisional certificates may be accepted at the time of joining; however, submission of final certificates is compulsory once issued.
All candidates must report their marks in percentage format. If marks are in CGPA, conversion to percentage must be done as per university/institute norms, along with supporting documentation during verification.

Educational Qualifications :
Graduate Engineering: Degree in Engineering/Technology from a recognized university or institution empowered by an Act of Parliament.
Diploma (Engineering): Diploma in Engineering/Technology from a State Board of Technical Education or recognized authority.
ITI Trades: ITI pass candidates with valid NCVT certification in the relevant trade.
Non-Technical Graduate: Degree from a recognized statutory university or institution empowered by an Act of Parliament.

Age Limit :
Minimum age: 18 years (as on 06-06-2026).
Maximum age: As per Government of India apprenticeship rules.

Ineligibility Conditions :
Candidates will not be considered if they ;
Passed the qualifying examination before 2022.
Possess higher qualifications than the prescribed requirement.
Have one year or more of experience or prior training after acquiring the essential qualification.
Have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training elsewhere.
Are not regular pass-outs (distance/correspondence candidates are not eligible).

Selection Process :
Selection for GTRE DRDO Apprentice Recruitment 2026 will be conducted through walk-in interview mode, which may include ;
Shortlisting based on academic merit.
Written test (if required).
Personal interview or a combination of both.
Document verification.
GTRE reserves the right to decide the shortlisting criteria and selection methodology. Not all eligible candidates may be called for selection.
Selected candidates will be informed via email, and results will also be published on www.drdo.gov.in
No correspondence will be entertained from non-selected candidates.

Training Details :
Apprenticeship duration: 1 year.
Governed under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
No guarantee of employment after completion of training.
Contract execution is mandatory before commencement of training.

Selection Stages :
Stage 1 : Registration on NATS/NAPS portal.
Stage 2 : Walk-in interview at GTRE, Bengaluru on 06-06-2026.
Stage 3 : Shortlisting based on merit / written test / interview.
Stage 4 : Verification of character, antecedents, and medical fitness certificate from Government Hospital.

Reporting time: 09:00 AM.
No online application is required.
Registration on NATS/NAPS is mandatory prior to attending.
Candidates must carry ;
Duly filled Registration Form (Annexure I).
Undertaking Form (Annexure II).
NATS/NAPS profile printout.
Original documents with one set of self-attested copies.
Two recent passport-size photographs.
No TA/DA, accommodation, or travel allowance will be provided.
