Level-5/4 Sports Norms :
Candidates applying for Level-5/4 posts should have represented the country in Olympic Games in the Senior category or Category-A, or should have secured at least third position in a Category-B Championship or Event.

Level-2 Sports Norms :
Candidates for Level-2 posts may qualify by representing the country in a Category-B Championship or Event, securing at least third position in a Category-C Championship or Event, securing at least third position in Senior, Youth or Junior National Championships, securing at least third position in National Games, securing at least third position in All India Inter University Championships, or securing first position in Federation Cup Championships in the Senior category.

Level-1 Sports Norms :
Candidates applying for Level-1 posts should have represented the country in a Category-C Championship or Event, secured at least third position in a Senior Federation Cup Championship, or represented a State or equivalent unit and secured at least eighth position in Senior National Championships, subject to the conditions prescribed in the notification.

Categorization of International Championships :
The notification categorizes international championships for determining sports eligibility.
Category-A includes Olympic Games in the Senior category.
Category-B includes World Cup, World Championships, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, Youth Olympics and Thomas or Uber Cup in Badminton.
Category-C includes Commonwealth Championships, Asian Championships or Asia Cup, SAF Games, USIC World Railways Championships and World University Games.

Talent Scouting Quota :
Candidates who have represented India in the Olympics or relevant Category-B Championships, or secured at least third position in the relevant Category-B Championship within the prescribed six-month period, may be considered under the Talent Scouting Quota without Sports Trials wherever applicable.
Up to three candidates may be selected under the Talent Scouting Quota based on overall merit. If suitable candidates are not available, the vacancies will be filled through the regular Open Advertisement process.

Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 Educational Qualification :
The educational qualification varies according to the level of the post.
For Level-5/4 posts, candidates must possess a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
For Level-2 posts, candidates must have passed Higher Secondary, 12th or 10+2 examination from a recognized institution. Candidates with Matriculation along with Course Completed Act Apprenticeship or Matriculation with a recognized Diploma may also be eligible as prescribed.

The selection process is based primarily on sports performance and merit.
Sports Trial will be conducted for eligible candidates.
Sports Achievements will be assessed by the nominated Selection Committee.
