Eligibility Criteria :
Applicants must ensure they meet all prescribed eligibility conditions as on the closing date of online application submission (10 June 2026, Midnight). All academic qualifications must be obtained from a recognized University or institution established under a Central, State, or Provincial Act, or an institution duly recognized by the UGC.
The recruitment and selection process will strictly follow the UGC Regulations Notification No. F.1-2/2017(EC/PS) dated 18 July 2018, including all subsequent amendments.
Candidates who are above 60 years of age are not eligible to apply under any category.
Essential Qualifications :
Professor (Pay Level-14, 7th CPC) :
Candidates applying for the post of Professor must satisfy either of the following eligibility routes:
Applicants should be distinguished scholars with a Ph.D. in the relevant or allied discipline, supported by high-quality research contributions. They must have a minimum of ten research publications in reputed peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a research score of at least 120 as per UGC norms.
In addition, candidates must possess at least ten years of teaching and/or research experience at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in recognized academic institutions, along with documented evidence of successful Ph.D. supervision.
OR
Alternatively, candidates with a Ph.D. in relevant or applied disciplines who are recognized professionals with significant contributions to their field may apply. Such contributions must be supported by valid documentary evidence, along with a minimum of ten years of relevant professional experience.
Associate Professor (Pay Level-13A, 7th CPC) :
Applicants must possess a strong academic background with a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline and a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories as per government norms).
Candidates must have a minimum of eight years of teaching or research experience equivalent to Assistant Professor or higher positions in recognized institutions, along with at least seven research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
A minimum research score of 75, as per UGC Appendix II criteria, is also mandatory.
Relaxation in eligibility criteria is applicable as per UGC and Government of India guidelines for reserved categories and eligible Ph.D. holders.
Assistant Professor (Pay Level-10, 7th CPC) :
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) in the relevant discipline.
They must have qualified NET conducted by UGC/CSIR or equivalent SET/SLET examinations. Candidates holding a Ph.D. awarded in accordance with UGC regulations (2009/2016 and amendments) are exempted from NET/SET/SLET requirements.
However, as per the UGC notification dated 30 June 2023, NET/SET/SLET qualification remains the standard minimum eligibility criterion for recruitment.
Alternatively, candidates possessing a Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked among the top 500 global institutions (QS, THE, or ARWU rankings) are also eligible.
Age Limit :
The upper age limit for all posts is below 60 years, in accordance with Government of Odisha service rules. The superannuation age is fixed at 60 years.
Only the Matriculation/SSC certificate issued by the recognized board will be accepted as valid proof of date of birth.
Salary and Pay Structure :
The pay scale and allowances for all faculty positions will be governed by the norms of the Government of Odisha in alignment with the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).
Position Pay Level :
Professor : Level-14.
Associate Professor : Level-13A.
Assistant Professor : Level-10.
All benefits and allowances will be admissible as per applicable state government rules.
Application Fee :

Selection Process :
The selection procedure involves two main stages: scrutiny of applications followed by interview.
Stage 1: Scrutiny and Shortlisting ;
Applications will be evaluated based on UGC guidelines. Shortlisting will be carried out as follows:
Up to 15 candidates for a single vacancy.
For multiple vacancies, candidates will be shortlisted in a 1:10 ratio.
The shortlisting will be based on academic performance, research score, and eligibility criteria as defined under UGC regulations.
Stage 2: Interview Process ;
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview, which includes a mandatory PowerPoint presentation of 9 slides.
