BHU Recruitment 2026 Notification :
Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has released the BHU Recruitment 2026 Notification for 17 Non-teaching vacancies under Advertisement No. 14/2025-2026.
The recruitment drive offers opportunities for candidates with Intermediate, Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, Diploma, and relevant work experience, depending on the post.
The available posts include Assistant Curator, Artist, Assistant Photographer, Junior Darner, and Gallery Attendant.

BHU Recruitment 2026 Vacancy Details :
BHU has announced a total of 17 Non-teaching vacancies across five different posts.
The highest number of vacancies has been allotted to the Gallery Attendant post.
The vacancies are distributed as follows :
Assistant Curator – 5 Posts.
Artist – 1 Post.
Assistant Photographer – 1 Post.
Junior Darner – 1 Post.
Gallery Attendant – 9 Posts.
The university reserves the right to increase, decrease, or modify the number of vacancies as per administrative requirements.
BHU Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria :
Educational Qualification :
Candidates must possess the educational qualification and relevant experience prescribed for the post they wish to apply for.
Assistant Curator applicants must hold a Master's Degree in Museology, AIHC & Archaeology, History of Art, Archaeology, Heritage Management, or Heritage Studies with at least 55% marks.
Candidates applying for Artist must have a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts along with five years of experience in traditional Indian painting or commercial art related to museum work.
Assistant Photographer candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts with Photography or a Bachelor's Degree with a Diploma in Photography, along with one year of professional photography experience.
Applicants for Junior Darner should have passed Intermediate (10+2) and possess five years of relevant museum experience.
Candidates applying for Gallery Attendant must have passed Intermediate (10+2) from a recognised board.
Candidates should ensure they satisfy all educational and experience requirements before submitting the application.
BHU Recruitment 2026 Age Limit :
Age relaxation will be provided as per Government of India rules for eligible reserved category candidates.
Relaxation is applicable for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates.
There is no upper age limit for permanent BHU employees.
Service rendered under BHU projects or contractual appointments will be considered for age relaxation wherever applicable.
BHU Recruitment 2026 Application Fee :
Candidates belonging to the General and OBC categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹500.
SC, ST, and Women candidates are exempted from payment of the application fee.
The fee must be paid through the prescribed online payment mode before the final submission of the application.
Application fees once paid are generally non-refundable.
BHU Recruitment 2026 Salary Details :
Selected candidates will receive salary as per the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix.
The salary varies according to the post and pay level.
Assistant Curator and Artist will receive ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 (Level-6).
Assistant Photographer will receive ₹29,200 – ₹92,300 (Level-5).
Junior Darner will receive ₹21,700 – ₹69,100 (Level-3).
Gallery Attendant will receive ₹18,000 – ₹56,900 (Level-1).
In addition to basic pay, selected candidates will be entitled to admissible allowances and other benefits as per BHU and Government of India rules.
BHU Recruitment 2026 Selection Process :
The selection process will be conducted in multiple stages to assess the eligibility and suitability of candidates.
The recruitment process includes :
Written Test.
Skill Test (where applicable).
Document Verification.
Final selection will be based on candidates' performance in the prescribed selection stages and successful verification of documents.
