Professor :
Applicants must possess a recognized medical qualification included in Schedule I, II, or Part II of Schedule III of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, along with an MD/MS or equivalent in the relevant discipline. For super-specialty departments, an M.Ch. (Surgical Super Specialties) or D.M. (Medical Super Specialties) qualification (2, 3, or 5-year course) is required.
Experience Requirement:
14 years of teaching/research experience after MD/MS
12 years after M.Ch./D.M. (2 or 5-year course)
11 years after M.Ch./D.M. (3-year course)
Additional Professor :
Candidates must hold a recognized medical qualification as per the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, along with MD/MS or equivalent in the concerned discipline. Super-specialty positions require an M.Ch. or D.M. qualification (2, 3, or 5-year course).
Experience Requirement:
10 years after MD/MS
8 years after M.Ch./D.M. (2 or 5-year course)
7 years after M.Ch./D.M. (3-year course)
Associate Professor :
A recognized medical qualification with MD/MS or equivalent in the relevant discipline is mandatory. For super-specialties, M.Ch. or D.M. qualifications apply.
Experience Requirement:
6 years after MD/MS
4 years after M.Ch./D.M. (2 or 5-year course)
3 years after M.Ch./D.M. (3-year course)
Assistant Professor :
Candidates must possess a recognized medical qualification with MD/MS or equivalent in the respective discipline. Super-specialty departments require an M.Ch. or D.M. qualification.
Experience Requirement:
3 years after MD/MS
1 year after M.Ch./D.M. (2 or 5-year course)
No experience required for candidates holding a 3-year D.M./M.Ch. degree
