Eligibility Criteria :
Applicants must satisfy all eligibility conditions as on the closing date of online application (18-06-2026). Only Indian citizens and OCI cardholders (under Section 7A of the Citizenship Act, 1955) are eligible to apply.
All educational qualifications and experience must be completed on or before the last date of application.
Required residency/training (where applicable) must also be completed by the closing date.
Qualifications must be from institutions recognized by NMC/MCI/DCI/INC/State Nursing Council/UGC, as applicable.
Knowledge of regional languages such as Bengali or Kokborok is not required.

Educational Qualification and Experience :

Assistant Professor :
MBBS/medical qualification as per IMC Act, 1956.
MD/MS/DM/MCh in the concerned specialty.
Experience: 3 years teaching/research after PG (1 year for super-specialty courses).

Associate Professor :
MD/MS or DM/MCh in relevant specialty
OR
Master’s degree with PhD in relevant allied discipline.
Experience ;
6 years (MD/MS) OR 4 years (DM/MCh 2–5 year course) OR 3 years (DM/MCh 3-year course).
Non-medical: 6 years post-PhD experience.

Additional Professor :
MD/MS or DM/MCh in relevant specialty
OR
Master’s + PhD in allied discipline.
Experience ;
10 years (MD/MS) OR 8 years (DM/MCh 2–5 year course) OR 7 years (DM/MCh 3-year course).
Non-medical: 10 years post-PhD experience.

Professor :
MD/MS or DM/MCh in relevant specialty
OR
Master’s + PhD in relevant subject.
Experience ;
14 years (MD/MS) OR 12 years (DM/MCh 2–5 year course) OR 11 years (DM/MCh 3-year course).
Non-medical: 14 years post-PhD experience.

Age Limit (as on 18-06-2026) :
Assistant Professor / Associate Professor : 50 years (up to 55 years with relaxation).
Additional Professor / Professor : 58 years (no relaxation applicable).

Age Relaxation (Assistant & Associate only) :
SC/ST: 5 years.
OBC: 3 years.
PwBD: 5 years.
Ex-servicemen: 5 years.
Govt employees: 5 years.

Application Fee :
UR / OBC : ₹3000.
SC / ST / EWS : ₹2400.
PwBD : Exempted.

Pay Scale :
Assistant Professor: Level 12 – ₹1,01,500 to ₹1,67,400.
Associate Professor: Level 13A1+ – ₹1,38,300 to ₹2,09,200.
Additional Professor: Level 13A2+ – ₹1,48,200 to ₹2,11,400.
Professor: Level 14A – ₹1,68,900 to ₹2,20,400.

Selection Process :
Selection will be carried out in two stages ;
Objective screening / shortlisting based on eligibility and scoring criteria.
Interview / Personality Test (final selection based only on interview performance).
Screening is used only for shortlisting candidates.
Interviews may be video recorded.
Shortlisted candidates are called based on merit scores.
